HANOVER HOMELESS PROJECT

about

In early 2018 a homeless man in the Hanover area of Brighton began asking for help on the community Facebook page. Many people in the area rose to the occasion helping him in a host of different ways, everything from lending him a brolly to donating to his Just Giving page. Then one day, just as quickly as he had arrived, he disappeared leaving many of us in the community not only worried for him but for the plight of others like him. A small group of us decided to continue to try and help the less fortunate in our city and formed the Hanover Homeless Project. Our hearts were in the right place but we had no idea of how we should go about achieving our aim so we consulted knowledgeable people. From these initial meetings it was suggested we supply what we have come to call 'Starter Packs'. These packs contain things formerly homeless people, moving into secure accommodation, require to make a home - cutlery, crockery, alarm clock, bedding, towels a kettle. Things that make the transition from rough sleeping just that bit easier.
